Building together a European Data Community

Home » Building together a European Data Community

The website that we launch today is part of the larger European Data Market study study aims to define, assess and measure the European data economy, supporting the achievement of the Data Value Chain policy of the European Commission.

The main results of this study will feed into the annual reviews of the Digital Agenda Scoreboard providing valuable data and information.

To support the measuring activities of the project, we aim also to support the development of the community of relevant stakeholders in the EU. There is a variety of data communities that strive in Europe (run by associations, data evangelists, startups or software companies, etc.). Our goal is to help the EC to move from disparate communities to a genuine stakeholders’ ecosystem.

We start with mapping the community – see our Company map with more than 100 entries. Are we missing some data companies? For sure and we will need your help to make the picture more complete. Do not hesitate to add your company or the companies you know of to our map.

We will also regularly blog about the study results, related events and interesting case of data applications in business.

If you want to keep in touch with us, sign in for our monthly newsletter, engage in a conversation on Twitter and join our bookmarking group on European data market. If you think we can together work on building the European data community, drop us a line.

We will also soon publish a list of Data webinars that will happen every second month as from September 2014.
