Presentation from the webinar: The present and the future of the European Data Market
The final webinar presenting the results of the EU Data Market Study took place on 15 December.
Participants got to learn how the European Data Market is performing, to discover how many data workers and companies there are in Europe, what is the market's value, and how European citizens are using data. Among other findings, they learned that the overall value of the European Data Market is now estimated at 59.5 Billion EUR in 2016 and that it is projected to reach almost 80 Billion EUR in 2020.

Big data is more than big talks. It is one the most powerful drivers of change and the best opportunity for Europe to sustain economic development and growth. The Data Market in Europe increasingly leverages data-driven innovation, enabled by Big Data technologies, and acts as a powerful value generator producing benefits for Europe’s economy as a whole.
To capture this value, IDC and Open Evidence have defined and measured the data economy in five main areas: workers, companies, value of the market, skills and citizens. The findings were presented during the webinar.
