Neuropublic is an innovative ICT SME specialized in the development of integrated information systems and high-demand applications built in Cloud computing architecture. Neuropublic (NP) has built and operates its own data center offering cloud services at platform level (PaaS) and software level (SaaS). NP products and services are being successfully used for over 10 years, by more than 800.000 end-users in agriculture, local government and healthcare. NP has participated in various European Space Agency (ESA) projects (Euro-VO Registry, Space Certifiable Compiler Extensions, Data Modelling Technologies, EGOS Coding Convention and Quality Model etc.) as well as EC funded projects (eg FP7 ADVISE, FP7 LASIE etc). NP invests considerable amount of money in Research and Development (1.5 million euros for the biennium 2013-2014) and implements the research results on innovative products that satisfy the demands of the future and the new trend markets. NP is offering EO services related to CAP implementation, land cover changes, spatial analytics and smart agriculture. The spatio-temporal object monitoring services are offered using the NP Cloud Data Center and through the GAIA technological bus. NP also designed and developed GAIA Tron, ultra-low cost, very flexible/mobile and scalable agri-sensors for the monitoring of environmental and soil variables. On 2015 NP launched its Smart Farming pilot program which aims at establishing GAIA Sense, NP’s National IoT infrastructure, by producing and installing 10.000 GAIA Tron agri-sensors, covering the whole Greek arable area by the end of 2018. NP is currently working on the integration and management of large volumes of heterogeneous types of data (such as the ones provided by UAVs, Copernicus, environmental, map, soil, business data etc., see next slide), in order to provide advanced services to a customer base of >725K registered agricultural professionals. It is expected that the currently available 300TB of data will be enhanced with additional 30TB per year from remote sensing (UAV and Copernicus) starting on 2017. In the context of this work, a suite of IT Smart Farming Services will be enhanced for using the Big Data technologies provided by the project. On top of that, an open framework that allows third party developers and application/service makers to develop new services on the project’s collected Big Data is currently in design phase.
