Cineca is a non profit Consortium, made up of 70 Italian universities, 8 Italian Research Institutions and the Italian Ministry of Education. It develops advanced Information Technology applications and services, acting like a trait-d'union between the academic world, the sphere of pure research and the world of industry and Public Administration.

The Machine Learning group of the University of Ferrara is composed by about 10 people and is focused on machine learning, data mining and intelligent data analysis for Big Data. In particular, the group has a strong record of research in statistical relational learning, i.e., the induction of complex statistical models involving intertwined and uncertain relations among a large number of entities.
